Obituary
Valerie Jean Wagner was born to Richie and Vena Lyness and raised in Kinuso, Alberta, with her sister, Sandra. Valerie was an energetic soul with a contagious laugh that could be recognized anywhere. She had a gift for making people smile, whether it be with her or at her! As long as those around her were happy, so was Val. Kind and caring, Val truly loved everyone she met and was always there at the drop of a hat to help. Val volunteered countless hours with many organizations, most notably with the Ponoka Stampede for 30 years.
Sadly, Val’s time with us ended on June 26, 2021 at the age of 64. Valerie was predeceased by her husband Daniel Paul Wagner and infant daughter Leanne. The three are reunited once again.
She will continue to be loved and missed by her son Calvin; her son Sheldon (Jenni) and their children Addison, Archer, and Ava; her daughter Deanna (Cameron); her sister Sandra; nephew Kyle; niece Natasha (Jay); as well as numerous friends and extended family members.
A celebration of Val’s life will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Ponoka, with the Interment Service following at Forest Home Cemetery, and then a reception back at the Legion.
Memorial donations are gratefully accepted to the Royal Canadian Legion, Ponoka Branch #66.
