Obituary of Valare (Val) June STEWART (nee Boyce)
September 18, 1952 – Deloraine, Manitoba
February 8, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta
Valare (Val) June Stewart, beloved wife of Edward Stewart, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the age of 68 years.
Val was born in Deloraine, MB, on September 18, 1952, and grew up in Brandon and moved to Winnipeg in 1970. She married Edward (Ted) Stewart on May 5, 1973, and they moved to Calgary in 1989 with their two children.
After her thirty year career in the oil and gas industry, she retired in 2017 in Calgary, Alberta.
Val is survived by Ted, her husband of forty-seven years, daughter Chrystal (Colin), son Dustin (Vanessa), and grandsons, Riley and Jackson; sisters, Marie (Pete), Dixie (Barney), Diane (Darrell); and many nieces and nephews. Val was predeceased by her father Ross Boyce in 1982, her mother Marjorie Boyce in 1997, and her brother-in-law Ken Glover in 1994.
Many thanks to all of the nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their great care and smiling faces. Thanks to Dr. Bebb, Dr. Lim, Dr. MacArthur, and especially Dr. Weiss. A special thanks to all of the Intercare Southwood Hospice staff, the palliative and the home care workers, you are all fantastic.
