Trudy Everson
December 15, 1951 – April 11, 2021
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family Trudy (Ricketts) Everson, aged 69 years. Those that knew her appreciated her for her love of life and sense of humour. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Predeceased by her parents Jean and Maurice Ricketts, her mother and father-in-law Mary and Bern Everson, and sister-in-law Betty (Everson) Knight. She will be missed immensely by her husband of 50 years Joe, her children Dawn McGrath (son in-law Brian), Shelly Thorne (son-in-law Darrin), and Stephen Everson (daughter-in-law Laura), and her 5 beautiful grandchildren who she loved beyond measure Stephanie Thorne, Danielle Thorne, Haley Everson, Keira McGrath, and Owen Everson. Also mourning her loss are her sister Andrea Hickey (Jim), brothers Randy Ricketts (Sasha) and Rick Ricketts (Tina), along with brothers-in-law Mick Everson (Judy), Kevin Everson (Amanda), Billy Everson (Gail), Jimmy Everson, and Bernie Everson (Lori), and sister-in-law Joanne Kavanagh (Paul). She will also be missed by cherished friends Geraldine Ezekiel, Beth Everson-Brooker, and Alphia Hogan, along with a large circle of family and friends. “Trude”, as she was known to those who loved her, was a fun-loving lady with an incredible sense of humour, and kept her family laughing and smiling right to the very end. She was always up for a good time with friends and family, whether it be a game of bingo, a run to town, or even something as simple as a cup of coffee and a chat. Nothing made her happier than spending every birthday and holiday with her family, and her silly laugh and easy-going attitude will be dearly missed. Life threw her some health issues that would have brought many people down, but not her. She never complained and pushed on with her amazing attitude and positivity which she will always be remembered for. Her family would like to send a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and care during her stay. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11am with inurnment to follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Flatrock. Due to covid-19 restrictions the Funeral Service will be by invite only.
