Sometimes, even with the most positive outlook, cancer just doesn’t listen. It is now time for me to move on to a well-earned pain free rest, to move onto the next chapter – next adventure. On May 13, 2021 at my home, my time on this earth ended. Rest assured that I never gave up hope or stopped fighting this monster of a disease.
Sadly, I am leaving everyone whom I loved, behind. There are no words to explain how much everyone helped me, but I’m going to try.
My sweet, loving Arthur “Art” Wierikko. The amount of stress and worries you endured for me was immeasurable. You were my rock over this difficult time in my life and I couldn’t have done any of this without you. I love you.
The greatest accomplishments of my life are my 3 beautiful girls. Hillary Froom (age 28) who will always be my first born. I wish you all the happiness and joy for your entire future. I love you HILLARY DILLERY. Clarissa Froom (age 26) is my second born and with her intense amount of energy, her success is surely to follow all through her future. I love you CHA FROOMIE. Isabelle Froom (age 24) is my last born and with her thoughtfulness and many talents, I wish her a wonderful, fulfilling life. I love you ISABELLY. The amount of happiness you girls gave me will stay with me always. You made me one proud Momma and I’ll love you forever.
Now I need to say thank you to the best friends ever. Steve Larrett, who always made sure that dinner was available and made trips to the hospital to see me even when I was beyond loopy. Tanya, who always stayed in touch with me and kept my emotional side at peace. Regardless of the distance between us, I always felt her closeness. Now for Trena. The number of visits or drop offs at the hospital for chemo or sickness were such unbelievable, generous acts of kindness. Making sure I had everything I needed was always her number one priority. The amount of love and support showered on me my entire illness is something I appreciated more than you’ll ever know. I love you guys.
I am also survived by my siblings Tiffany (Mike) Mountenay, Mark (Rhonda) Boyd and Colin (Elisabeth) Boyd, aunt Donna and Andrea Wright, uncle Johan and Dianne and my father Bill Brereton. And, of course, my fur baby Molly Muffin. I will miss her terribly, but I know she’ll have a great life with her daddy.
I have been predeceased by far too many relatives to name everyone, but I guarantee that heaven will be hosting the Brereton/Boyd/McNeil homecoming party for me.
I’d like to give a huge Thank You to the nurses, doctors and support staff at the Cancer Centre and on 1A. I would also like to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who sent me messages, cards, shared meals and those who shaved their heads with me.
Sargent & Son Funeral Home has looked after my cremation. In lieu of flowers or cards, all I ask is that when you think of me you smile. Also, for any of you that know my girls, please hug them for me so they know I’m always near.
Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means I will miss you until we meet again.
Love,
Trina
