Trifone, Mafalda (nee Salvatore) – Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa, Dundas, on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the age of 95. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Remo. Dearly loved and missed by her children Francesca and Carmine (Delia), grandson Anthony, and nieces and nephews throughout Italy and in Lockport, NY.
Mafalda was born on October 14, 1925 and raised in Castiglione a Casauria, province of Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy. She emigrated to her new home in Hamilton in 1959. Mafalda was very devoted to her family and her Catholic faith, devoutly praying the rosary in Italian.
Special thank you to Dr. Boyd, nurses, and PSWs on Orchid Garden for their wonderful care of Mafalda during the final years of her life. And our profound gratitude to her beloved caregiver, Lindsay, whose love, kindness, and devotion enhanced the past six years of Mafalda’s life.
Friends will be received by the family on Sunday afternoon from 1-5 at the Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas. As per Covid regulations, everyone must sign up for visitation on Mafalda’s obituary on the Funeral Home website. A private Mass will be held on Monday, May 31, at 11:00am with a livestream link on the Funeral Home website. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation would be appreciated.
