Thomas Lewis Colley passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 17, 2021 at Grey Bruce Health Science Center in Owen Sound at the age of 68. Tom, beloved son of Thomas and the late Ethel Colley. Loving husband of Teresa. Dear father of Kevin (Stacy) and Tara (Marty) Cherished grandfather of Ben, Ashton, Hawkins, Grace and Tyson. Survived by his brothers Tim, Wayne (Kim) and Ken (Joanne). Tom is the all time leader of American Hockey League’s (AHL) New Haven Nighthawks in games played, goals, assists, and total points; 117-point season with the Ontario Hockey League’s Sudbury Wolves in 1972-73; He was drafted by the Minnesota North Stars where he made his National Hockey League (NHL( He made his NInvited to MLB’s Pittsburgh Pirates training camp in 1970.
Prolific player Colley was captain of the Collingwood Shipbuilders during the 1980s.

  1. I just came upon the obituary of Tom Colley. To the family of Mr. Colley I wish you my deepest sympathy. Mr Colley is a legend in the New Haven hockey community. We spent many nights watching Your husband, father, grandfather skating at the New Haven Coliseum. He inspired many young boys an girls to play hockey. God bless you Tom and god bless your family.
