Obituary of Timothy Desmond (Des) McIntyre
Timothy Desmond (Des) McIntyre passed peacefully at Hospice Renfrew on Wednesday July 7, 2021 in his 90th year. Son of the late Cecil and Mary (Scott) McIntyre. Beloved husband of 60 years of the late Marguerite O’Kane (2015). Loving father of Tim (Jayne), Katherine (Paul Griese), late Terry (Andrea), Robert (Debbie), Tom (Bonnie) and the late John. Loved brother of Dave (Helen), and Elaine (Ron Tracey) and sister-in-law Margie. Predeceased by sisters Doris (Donnelly) and Olive (O’Kane) and brother Leo. Proud grandpa of 13 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with two more coming soon. Des is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family, farming and and gathering with friends for card games were Des’ pleasures.
A Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home, 310 Argyle St, S Renfrew on Friday July 9th from 2-4, 7-9 pm. DUE TO THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS REGARDING COVID-19, TWENTY PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT ANY GIVEN TIME – FACE MASKS/COVERINGS ARE REQUESTED FOR THE FUNERAL HOME. (To RSVP for the visitation please reserve a spot on the funeral home website or contact the funeral home to confirm attendance at 432-2849.).
Due to current restrictions a private family Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew on Saturday July 10th. A recording of the services will be available on our website on Saturday afternoon after 2:00pm. Donations may be made to Hospice Renfrew or Renfrew Victoria Hospital.
