Obituary of Thomas Lyle Houston
Houston: Thomas “Lyle” a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at the age of 87. Born in Dresden, son of the late Thomas and Gladys Houston. Lyle had owned and operated Houston’s Shell Service in Dresden for many years, and retired from Navistar after 26 years. He loved harness racing, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Beloved husband of Mary Jeane “Marilyn” Houston (nee Dale). Cherished and loving father of the late Ken Houston (2018) (Susan), Michael Houston, Doug Houston (Jeanne). Forever missed by his grandchildren Nicole, Andrea (John), Brian, Alicia (John) and Steven and his great-grandchildren Braydon, Sidney, Ethan, Kelsey, Arie, and Milo. Predeceased by daughters-in- law Barbara (1994) and Marcia (2017) and great-grandson Justin. At Lyle’s request, Cremation has taken place. The family will remember him privately. If desired donations to the Salvation Army, Chatham Outreach For Hunger, or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation would be appreciated.
