Obituary of Thomas Harold Metcalf
Thomas Harold Metcalf, a resident of New Liskeard, Ontario passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital on April 11, 2021 after battling Lewy Body Dementia, at the age of 70.
He was born in Bowmanville, Ontario on July 3, 1950. He was the son of the late Albert Harvey John Metcalf and Verna Margaret Elenor (née Henning) Metcalf. Thomas was the beloved husband of Sharon Helen (née Blanchard). Father to 3 wonderful children, Harold Clinton, Sherri Lynn (Kelly O’Brien), Richard Thomas (Angela Hester). Grandfather to Travis Rossignol, Jonathan Basini, Thomas & Sebastian Metcalf and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Brother to the late H. Brian Metcalf (Elaine Henderson), Robert/Bob (Linda Tremblay), Linda and Richard Smith, Donna and Willie Woo. Brother in law to Colleen Blanchard and Ronald Wilton, Abby Blanchard and Douglas Smythe, the late Christine Blanchard and Wayne Harrison. He was the son-in-law to Albert and Kathleen Blanchard.
Thomas was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a hard worker – worked at Stedmans since high school, where he met his wife Sharon, the Post Office in Toronto and St Mary’s Cement in Bowmanville for 31.5 years. He loved to take drives in the country, garden, hobby farming and watch live shows.
The family would like to give many thanks to Dr. P. Smith, Dr. Lawson and staff at the Temiskaming Hospital, Dr. Hays and staff at the Oak Lodge (Kirkwood Place) in Sudbury for their loving care and support.
