Thomas’ Obituary
The hunt for Bigfoot has come to a sad end. Thomas Martin Niel Letang, known as BigfootThom, resident of Edmonton, AB, passed away quietly in his temporary nest in Peace River, AB on June 15, 2021, at the age of 44.
Thomas was born on January 18, 1977 in Vancouver, BC. He very quickly GREW in the hearts of everyone that met him. His mother, Sally Ann Letang, raised him by herself. Most of Thom’s youth was spent in Mission, BC and after much struggles he proudly graduated high school from Hatzic Secondary School in 1996. He had many jobs over the years, including Security Guard, Grocery Store Management and even dipped his toe into acting – Thomas was type cast as the Bigfoot in an episode of Northern Mysteries. After the passing of his mom in 2007, he moved to Peace River to be closer to his sister, Arlene Letang-Vander Klok. Since 2014, Thom has lived and worked in Edmonton for Chateau Nova Yellowhead as Night Auditor/Security. Due to COVID he was temporarily back in Peace River.
Thomas was the beloved baby brother of Arlene Letang-Vander Klok (his little big sis) and caring father to son Zachary Letang. Thom was very proud of Zach and excited for his future. There are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and friends that will miss him greatly. His passing leaves a LARGE hole in many, many hearts.
As much as we will miss him, he will be happy to be reunited on the other side with his mother, Sally and his grandparents, Martin and Ellen.
The scientists and adventurers can continue looking for Bigfoot, but the one and only true BigfootThom is at peace.
