Thomas’ Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas Irvine aged 75 at the McCausland Hospital in Terrace Bay on September 7, 2021.
Tom was born on August 12, 1946 in Edinburgh, Scotland to Ann-Margaret and James Irvine, the youngest of 5 children.
He immigrated to Canada at age 21 in 1967 to work for the Hudson Bay Company as a butcher, first working in Snow Lake Manitoba, then Red Lake. He then moved to Morris, Manitoba, then Lumby BC before relocating back to Red Lake where he was employed at Placer Dome. In 2013 Tom moved to Terrace Bay. Tom loved the game of darts and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Tom is predeceased by his mother Ann-Margaret and father James Irvine, his brothers Charlie and John, his daughter Linda, son Scott and common-law wife Lori.
He is survived by his brother James, sister Sandra, ex wife Audrey, son John and 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, and stepson Kevin.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the McCausland Hospital for the care and compassion given to Tom at the time of his passing. A special thanks to Ben Dechevery for his friendship and support during Tom’s time of need.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
A ceremony will be held at Red Lake Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at 9 A.M. with Kevin Miller officiating followed by interment at the Woodland Cemetery, Balmertown.
