Passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at St. Luke’s Place, Cambridge at the age of 86. Loving husband of Barbara Caskenette (nee Johnson). Cherished father of Les (Bonnie), and Tim. Beloved grandfather of Nick, Matthew, Tina, and Tim Jr. Thomas will also be sadly missed by his sister Doris Pfeiffer, and many extended family and friends. Predeceased by his son Tommy, his parents Leo and Elizabeth, his siblings Rita Hatt (Hucky), Marie Fischer (Abe), Chuck, Dick (Helen), Teddy and Jim, and his brother-in-law Bob. Thomas was a member in good standing of the Preston Legion and was heavily involved in his community, participating for years in events such as the Poppy Drive and the Senior’s Olympics. Some of his favourite things in life were fishing, watching the Blue Jays games, and playing cards with his family. Resting at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge where family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 11 – 12 noon. Due to the current restrictions, those wishing to attend are invited to RSVP through the funeral home website at www.lounsburyfuneralhome.com or by phoning at (519)658-9366. A private family service and burial will be taking place. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family.
