Thomas “Alton” Getson
1949-2021
At the Palliative Care Unit of Community Hospital,
O’Leary on May 20, 2021 of Thomas “Alton”
Getson aged 72 years. Born in O’Leary on March 22, 1949, he
was the Son of the late Howett and Eleanor (MacLean) Getson and
step-son of Kay (Reeves) Getson.
Survived by his Wife of 48 years Norma (MacWilliams) Getson,
daughter Suzanne Getson, deeply cherished Granddaughter Amiyah Getson,
all of O’Leary; Brothers Blair (Pauline) Getson,
O’Leary; Jimmie (Dianne) Getson, Carleton Lot 6; Dana (Mary)
Getson, Carleton Lot 6; sister Sheila (Tony) Bastow, St Stephen NB,
and sisters in law Lorraine (Rev. David) Black, Barrie ON. and Bertha
(Leigh) Shaw, Cape Wolfe.
Predeceased by his parents, step mother Kay, sisters Elaine
(Everett) MacNevin, Kimberley (Eric) Hass, brother David Getson and
mother and father in law Gordon and Jennie MacWilliams.
Resting at Ferguson Funeral Home and Chapel,
O’Leary. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, private family
visitation and funeral will be held on Tuesday.
