Obituary
Leshik, Theodor “Ted” Ralph (October 24, 1930 – August 27, 2021) – Peacefully at Empress Gardens Retirement Residence on Friday, August 27th in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Elke Leshik (nee Rapin) for 59 years. Loving father of Sonja (Steve) and Tracey. Beloved Opa to Owen, Ava and Megan. Much loved brother-in-law of Eckhart and Doris Rapin. Dear uncle Theo to Tom and Helen. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Maria Leshik and his sister Erna Geier of Germany. After immigrating from Germany as a young man, an opportunity with Canadian General Electric brought him to Peterborough where he worked for 35 years. In retirement Ted and Elke enjoyed many travels with family and close friends. They also spent many hours lovingly tending to and enjoying their beautiful flower gardens. Ted also liked to spend time swimming, skating and biking. In keeping with Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Empress Gardens for their care and compassion over the last 3 years. Donations may be made in Ted’s memory to VON Canada or charity of your choice.
