It is with sadness we announce the passing of
Terrance Stanley “Fish”
Porteous, age 67, of Oxford, NS. Terry passed
away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at the East Cumberland Lodge,
Pugwash.
Born in Pugwash, he was a son of the late Freeman and E.
Phyllis (Currie) Porteous.
Terry worked for the Town of Oxford as a younger man, later
operating his own clothing store “Terry’s Fashions” in
Oxford. A very social man, he was well known to his community and
county as Fish. He was an avid curler in his younger
days. A Mason, he was a member of the Winburn Lodge #75
(Oxford) and the Widow’s Son Lodge #48 (River Philip) as
well as being a Shriner and member of Cumberland Shrine Club,
Amherst.
Terry will be dearly missed by his children Trevor (Rhonda),
Nictaux, NS, Troy (Jevne), Stonewall, MB; grandchildren Tristan,
Dustin, Jesse, Leah, and Eric; sister Marlaine (Robert) Homans,
Musquodoboit Harbour, NS; brother Rick Porteous, Roslin, NS; nieces
and nephews, Charmen, DJ, Heather, Robyn and Currie.
He was predeceased by his son Travis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to W. Allen
Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, NS (902-447-2167)
where visiting hours will take place on Thursday from 6 to 8
pm. His funeral service will be held on Friday, December 3,
2021 at 2 pm. Proof of double vaccination and government
issued ID is required for visitation, funeral and burial. Burial will
take place at the Pine Grove Cemetery at a later date. The
funeral service will be recorded and available for viewing by
Saturday.
Those wishing to make a donation in Terry’s memory may do so
to the Masonic Winburn Lodge # 75, Oxford.
