Teresa-Ann Ruby “Terri” Gibson
1947-2020
Teresa-Ann Ruby “Terri” Gibson – age 73,
of Kentville, passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 29, 2020 in the
QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Middleton, she was the
daughter of the late Thomas and Ruby (Lightfoot) Dorey. Known as
“Mammie” to many, Terri was a CNA and had been employed in
retail while living in Montreal. She had a spitfire personality and
was “Susie homemaker” who dedicated her life to her family.
She enjoyed baking, canning, crocheting, knitting, painting and had
the unique ability to get into the hearts of those she just met and
those who knew her for a lifetime. She also enjoyed boxing, was a
supporter of the Evangeline Trail Boxing Club and an official boxing
judge. She was a volunteer at the Royal Canadian Legion Kings Branch
No. 6, the Kentville Lions Club and the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bryan; sons,
Curtis (Kari), Enfield and Chad (Melanie), Winnipeg; grandchildren,
Bailee, Shelby and Lincoln; brothers, David Dorey, Greenwood, Merrill
(Charlotte) Dorey, Windemere and Steven (Susan) Dorey, Riceville, NB;
nieces, nephews and extended family. Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by a brother, Christopher. Cremation has taken place. Due
to the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, services will be
held at a later date. Donations in Terri’s memory may be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Gibson Woods Baptist
Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
