Sylvia’s Obituary
ALLEY, Sylvia Joan ~ Age 83, of Berwick, Kings Co., passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on September 16, 1937, in Overton, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Katherine H. (Rose) Stanwood. Sylvia was a member of Berwick Baptist Church, where she had been active in the W.W.S. Auxiliary. She and her late husband had been members of Dahlia Society of Nova Scotia. Surviving are daughter, Heather Alley (Linda), Aylesford; son, George Alley (Carolyn), Dartmouth; brother, George (Peggy) Stanwood, Beaver River; former sister-in-law, Hilda Stanwood, Overton; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Edward R. Alley. A graveside service took place at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, in Berwick Cemetery, with Rev. Evan Colford officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to Berwick Baptist Church or to your favourite charity.
