Sylvia Eagles Cemetery Service 2021

Obituary of Sylvia Eagles Cemetery Service
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our wife and mother Sylvia Elaine Eagles,75, of Westville on Friday May 14, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Sylvia was born on June 25,1945, the sixth child of the late Edmund and Catherine (Kate) Doucette.
Sylvia graduated in Secretarial at Pictou County Community College and in her former years lived in Ontario with her sister Helen where she worked for London Life. She eventually moved home to Nova Scotia and was employed with MT&T for 18 years becoming Assistant Manager of the business office in Halifax, Truro, and New Glasgow. After the birth of her daughter, Sylvia chose to leave her career and become a stay at home mom. In her later years she also worked for Elections Canada. She was a very active volunteer in her community for many years, serving on town and school committees, working in school offices and libraries as well as being a member of many sports committees.
Sylvia was a devout member of Holy Name Parish, Westville where she taught religious education, served on Parish Council, assisted in the office, was Eucharistic Minister, and was past president of the Holy Name Catholic Womens League. She was also a member of the Cursillo Movement, enjoying her many retreats with them. She was very close with the ladies in her prayer group, looking forward to their weekly meetings.
Sylvia was very proud of her victory in overcoming breast cancer 20 years ago and joined the Women alike Breast Cancer Society. She was very appreciative of the support she received from them.
A loving wife and mother she will be dearly missed by her husband of 39 years David; daughter Catherine MacNutt (Matt), Stellarton and precious grandchildren Mason and Kate. She is also survived by sisters Lorraine Cyr (Raymond) and Carolyn Cameron (Dana), both of Westville; brothers Bob Doucette (Sharon), Fredericton; Mike Doucette (Carol), Truro; special nephew Kevin Doucette (Anita),Halifax; sister in law Janet Doucette, Westville; brother in law Art Eagles (Bonny) Westville; and many nieces and nephews.
