Obituary of Susan Mary Brown
With great sadness, we announce the untimely passing of Susan Mary Brown of Chesterville, Ontario. Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Susan passed away at age 63 on the morning of September 1, 2021 at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. Susan leaves behind her parents Janet and Kenneth Brown of Alexandria, sister Karen Brown, brother Douglas Brown, nephew Edwin Ye-Brown, stepson Richie Sommerdyk, and grieving relatives and friends. A loving daughter, Susan supported her parents all through the Covid pandemic. Susan had retired from her longtime position as a teacher’s aide working with autistic children for the Upper Canada School Board and had been enjoying the company of friends in Chesterville. She was artistically gifted, an expert quilter, and practiced many crafts. The family would like to thank the staff of the Heart Institute for everything they did for Susan. A private service will be held in her parents’ home and a commemoration in honour of Susan will be arranged at a later date.
