Susan Steffens MacNeil 2021

Susan Marie MacNeil
July 9,1959 – February 28, 2021
Sydney Mines
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected peaceful passing of Susan MacNeil, on Sunday morning February 28, 2021, at home.
She was reunited with her heavenly Angel, Melissa.
Born in Sydney Mines on July 9, 1959, Susan was the daughter of the late Herbert and Annie Mae (Leblanc) Steffens.
Susan is survived by her three beautiful daughters, of whom she was so proud;
Nicole MacNeil (Billy MacKeigan), Megan Fells (Matthew MacDonald), and
Lauren Fells (Mike Persaud).
She will be missed dearly by her companion Danny Devoe, who she loved and met too late in life. Susan was an exceptional “Nanny Susie” to her grandchildren Nicholas, Kaleb, Cody and Leah. She loved a good game of Crib.
Susan is also survived by her siblings Judy MacLean, Kenny Steffens (Gerry), Stevie Steffens, Darlene Steffens (Johnny), Vince Steffens, Kathy Steffens (Keith) and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by many friends, especially her lifelong friend, Diane (Shelly) Ferneyhough.
The last several years Susan resided at a Senior’s Complex, where she enjoyed the simple things in life by caring for and helping her neighbors. She was well known for cooking and sharing her pasta dishes.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Melissa Anne MacNeil, brother-in-law Russell MacLean, and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
As per her wishes, Susan has donated her body to science. A celebration of Susan’s life will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
