Susan’s Obituary
PLYMOUTH – Susan Leigh Lindblad, 70, Plymouth, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Toronto, Ont., she was a daughter of the late Walter G. and Janice A. (Gamble) Balfour. In earlier years, Susan had been employed as a bookkeeper for several companies before joining her husband on his fishing boat. In 1993, Susan purchased her own fishing license and fished out of the Lismore harbour for 15 years.
She lived life to the fullest and approached sports with equal gusto. Susan maintained a rigorous exercise routine and enjoyed running marathons. She taught fitness classes inspiring others to reach their full potential. Susan was a strong, caring, and generous lady, who put others before herself.
Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Hasse; sons, James (Julie), Stellarton; Paul (Jody), Grande Prairie, Alta.; four grandchildren; brother, Douglas Balfour, Toronto.
The family will receive visitors, socially distanced, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, October 17 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
Susan’s family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow and the Pictou County Victorian Order of Nurses for the excellent care she received.
