STUBBS John March 21 2021

1935-2021
John passed away peacefully on March 21, 2021 in Edmonton at the age of 85 years.
John was a man who loved spending his time on the open road. He moved from Ontario to Alberta in 1957 and made his career in the trucking industry in both Edmonton and Yellowknife. He would say the best holiday is when he could just drive, play a round of golf and drive again. He also loved reading, watching movies, listening to music and being at home. He could always be found with a book no matter where he was. We will miss this quiet man who was quick with a smile, a twinkle in his eye and a big heart.
He leaves behind a loving wife Elsie, who has been by his side for many years. The family so greatly thanks her for all the love and care she has given him this last 19 years.
He was a loving father to: Susan (Don), Ken (Wendy), and Jacqueline. He was grandpa to: Sheri (Robert), Donna (Louis), and Brad (Lindsay). As well as three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by the mother of two of his children Ann, and his sister Lillian and numerous nieces and nephews and in-laws.
.
He was pre-deceased by his parents: Keith and Eva and his brothers: Duke and Hap.
His spirit is now free to travel the open road once again with his brothers and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Capital Care Foundation CHOICE program. We do thank them for all the years that John was able to go there.
The family is having a private cremation and service.
