LOGAN, Steven John “Steve” – (May 25, 1955 – September 22, 2021) of Welland at 66 years of age. Beloved husband of Lorraine, (nee Putman), for 40 years. Father of Andrew and the late Stuart. Proud grandfather of Charlotte (Logan-Hare) and Anna-Rose (Logan). Son of the late Thomas and Norma Logan of Hamilton and son-in-law of the late Gordon and Evelyn Putman, also of Hamilton. Beloved brother of Ken, (and Gloria), Logan of Port Rowan and Dan, (and Frances), Logan of Hamilton. Loved brother-in-law of Diana, (and Sol), Finkelstein of San Diego, Valerie, (and Tim), Melitzer of Elmira, and Brian, (and Carolyn Renusz), Putman of Owen Sound. He will be lovingly remembered by many nephews, nieces, cousins, close friends, and colleagues.
Steve was a graduate of McMaster University Faculty of Engineering Class of 1977. His work history included H-A Simons in Vancouver, Hard Rock Paving and Brennan Paving in Port Colborne, and finally the MTO in St. Catharines as a Senior Claims Engineer. He loved his job at the MTO and the people he worked with and had plans to start his own consulting business following his retirement. He was proud of the memberships he held over the years including ORBA, the McMaster University Engineering Scholarship program, and being a PEGO Union Delegate.
Steve had a kind of gentle kindness not often encountered in this world. He loved his family with a quiet yet constant devotion. He laboured hard at both work and at projects at home, taking pride in his many accomplishments. He never played to the limelight but could leave you laughing in tears by his droll observations.
Steve fought a courageous battle over the past months and always approached each challenge with grace and promise, just as he viewed life with hope and love. Finally after many months in the hospital, Steve’s wish to return home became a reality.
The family will receive their friends at the H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland, on Tuesday, October 5th from 1 to 4pm.
