Stephen Reid Maysfield
Leitches Creek
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband and father, Stephen Reid Maysfield, on Saturday, January 16, 2021. Steve passed away at the age of 66 at his home in Leitches Creek surrounded by his family after a brief battle with cancer.
Steve was born in Pleasantvilla, N.B. on November 25th, 1954 to John Jr. and Ina (Warman) Maysfield.
Steve joined the military at the young age of 17; he served his country home and abroad for 21 years. After retiring from the services, he became Co-Owner of Vision Heating and Ventilation in Bras d’Or, N.S.
Steve married his forever love and best friend Sharon on July 6, 1974 and raised four children together. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, loved spending time with family and friends and when he could combine the two it made it even better. He was an avid card player, hummingbird watcher and a Christmas light display extraordinaire. He was known for his quick wit and dry comebacks, always up for having a coffee or a beer with a friend.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father, John Jr Maysfield and his mother, Ina (Warman), father-in-law Roderick Stubbert, sister, Donna Lacey and sister-in-law Theresa (Ballard) Maysfield.
Stephen is survived by his wife C. Sharon (Stubbert), children Stephan (Denise),
Sherry (Bernie), Stacey (Russ), and Sindy, and his beloved grandsons Christopher,
Bryce, Matthew, Ayden, Alexander, Emrick and Jaxsyn. He also leaves behind siblings Russell (Boni), J. Douglas (Margaret), Evelyn Savoie (Lorenzo) and Tracey Maysfield (Michel LeBlanc), mother-in-law Jackey Stubbert, brothers-in-law George Lacey, Roderick Stubbert and Michael (Kathleen) Stubbert, his best buddy, Aunt Freda Maysfield, many nieces and nephews, whom he was very close with, good friends and neighbours The Law family and the Ball family, and extended family Patrick Janelle.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Queenstown, NB, in May 2021. Words of comfort may be forwarded to his family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com
