Obituary of Stanley Solski
SOLSKI: Stanley – It is with great sadness that the family of Stanley Solski announce his passing at Blenheim Community Village on May 20, 2021 at the age of 90.
Son of the late Joseph and Mary (Kominek). Predeceased in 1995 by his wife Ruby (Labadie).
Father of Karen (Daryl) Chapman, Shelley (Lucio) Bergamin and Shawnda (Dario) Prelaz. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Brent, Geoff (Isabel), Brooke, Storm (Amanda), Sam, Ben, Matteo, Colin and soon to arrive in July his first great-grandchild.
Predeceased by brothers John, Walter, Ed, Frank and sister Jean. Survived by sisters-in-law Penny (Tim) Daniels, Viola Landon and Ann Labadie.
Stan’s parents emigrated to Canada from Poland in 1929 (he was the first born in Canada in 1930) and after various places of residence in Winnipeg, Toronto and London, the family settled in Chatham (1935).
Joseph established “Chatham Window Cleaning” which was eventually taken over by Stan and his brother John. Later Stan started his own company Chatham Building Maintenance. He was an avid golfer and along with his wife Ruby thoroughly enjoyed their Saturday Two-Ball at the original Country View Golf Course on Indian Creek Road.
Past member of Knights of Columbus and Sertoma. The family would like to thank the staff of Blenheim Community Village (especially Cheryl and “Mother”) for their compassionate care and support. Cremation has taken place.
