With sadness we announce the passing of Stanley A. Gooding, 83, on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Sydney Mines on June 19, 1938, he was the only son of the late Stanley and Martha (Cluett) Gooding.
Stan was a member of the Royal Oak Masonic Lodge # 85, a volunteer with the Sydney Mines Fire Dept, and the Sydney Mines Food Bank.
Stan is survived by his wife Margaret (MacPhee) Gooding, daughter Kelly, son Todd (Megan Thomas), and grandchildren Kaitlyn (Matthew), Jordan, Noah, Liam, Avery and Andrew. He is also survived by sisters Lorraine Hull (Bill deceased) and Alice Anderson (Ralph), sisters-in-law Sally Cameron (Winston deceased), and Judi (Bernie) MacDonald, brothers-in-law Charles (Helen deceased), and Stewart (Bonnie) MacPhee, many nieces and nephews, many friends and loved ones.
There will be no visitation or service at this time. The burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Stan’s memory may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Research, 2323 Younge St., Suite 800, Toronto, ON M4P 2C9, the Sydney Mines Food Bank, or a charity of your choice.
