Srtanley’s Obituary
It is with immeasurable grief we announce the passing of Stanley Stephen Hutchings of Cow Head at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Facility on Feb 20, 2021. Stanley died at the age of 85 peacefully in the company of his loving wife Bride.
Stanley had many occupations throughout his life time but was best remembered for fishing/ fish plant manager, lumber and sawmill work. He was known for being a hardworking, family man, who enjoyed being busy and in his later years could be found cutting and packing his own firewood. He was always available to lend a helping hand and was a great story teller. He was loved and well respected by most who knew him and his funny sense of humor always brought a smile to those around him.
Stanly valued his family above all else and was considered by all of them to be their rock. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and took great pride in them all. Stanley will also be remembered for his strength. He was a strong man who knew much grief in his lifetime, with the loss of 3 of his children and his battles with cancer; he remained kind, generous, and selfless in his actions even raising his 2 granddaughters as his own children after the death of this youngest daughter.
Stanley will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bride, his daughters Sharon Head (Ewen), Glennis Hutchings (Kirby), Deanna Hutchings (Grant) and Dayna; His son Oscar Hutchings (Audrey); Sisters Olive McKenzie, Jessie Caines and Rhonda Anderson; Grandchildren Stephanie, Stephen, Adam, Bianca, Danny, Dylan, and Hailee; Great-Grandchildren Jonah, Alexis, Katelyn, Logan, Kaleb, Lucas, Courtney, Maxwell, Gaige, Naveah, and Jaelyn; son-in-law Milton Payne and many other extended family and friends. Stanley was predeceased by his parents Henry and Blanche Hutchings; his sisters Mary Alice Brown, Nora Knott, Ivy Payne, Harriet Reid, and Nina Green; his brothers Job, Lawrence, Colin, and Jeff Hutchings; his children Enos, Roger, and Melva Hutchings.
