Obituary of Sidney Warren Russell
Age 72, of Newport Landing, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born November 7, 1948 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Warren and Margerite (Shaw) Russell.
Sid was a much-loved elementary school teacher. He took great joy in teaching computer to elementary school students. Once retirement came, he enjoyed his time at home and spending time with his dogs. He will be sadly missed by his dog, Sunny.
Sid is survived by his wife, the former Carolyn Shortt; daughters, Adele Russell and Eva (James) Hopkins; grandson, Owen Hopkins; sister, Marlene (Henry) Biggs; brother, James (Corrine) Russell.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Hants Community Hospital Unit 200, especially Dr. Cathryn Smith, for their care.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family graveside will take place at a later date in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, Dartmouth.
