Suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital on Wednesday December 30th, 2020. Sidney Systma age 71 years of Mallorytown. Beloved husband of JoAnne Sytsma ( nee Watts ). Dear father of Katie Stevenson (Bill), Amy Lalonde (John), Jacqueline Bell (Greg), Derek Sytsma ( Karen), Nathan Sytsma (Alicia) and Emily Sytsma (Will). Loving grandfather of Hannah, Jacob, Benjamin and Jeremiah Lalonde, Rebecca, Samantha and James Stevenson, Haven Sytsma, Graydon and Frank Bell. Brother of Betty Terpstra of Chilliwack, B.C., Rena VanderMey of Lyn, Rita VanSpriel (Dick), Charlie Sytsma (Kim) all of Athens and Rick Sytsma (Liz) of Guelph. Predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Wietse Terpstra and John VanderMey. Also predeceased by his parents, Dirk Sytsma and the former Wietske Nicolai.
Due to Covid restrictions, a Private Family Service will be held at Judson Funeral Home Athens, on Saturday January 2nd, 2020. In memoriam’s to the Athens Food Bank, Athens Medical Centre, Brockville and Area Food Bank and Girls Inc. of Upper Canada will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
