Shirley Jean Sutherland
1929-2021
Shirley Sutherland, of DOVER, went home to be with her Lord
on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Born in DOVER, she was the daughter of the
late Ralph and Ethel Dobson. She was married to the late George
Sutherland, they had two sons Dale (Darlene) and Dannie
(Cathy).
Shirley loved camping, gardening, reading and entertaining
family and friends. She was a long-time member and Sunday
School teacher at Highfield Baptist Church.
Shirley will be dearly missed by her son Dannie (Cathy),
grandchildren Amanda (Jarvis), Bradley (Reanna) and Emily, 7
great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws
Margaret, Sue, Glenna, Gwen (Jim), Bernice and brother-in-law Harold
(Ruth).
Besides her parents and husband, Shirley was predeceased by
her son, Dale; brother, Ralph; special nephew, Rocky; sister-in-laws,
Winnie, Edna and Betty; brother-in-laws Tom, Russell, Lorne and Art.
Shirley will be sadly missed by all.
In respecting her wishes a service celebrating her life will
take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center,
330 Whitepine Road, Riverview on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 10:00 AM with
Rev. Robert Knowles and Rev. Gary Barr presiding. For those wishing to
attend the service we ask that you contact the funeral home at

with your contact information and number in your group. The service
will be recorded and can be viewed that following day. Donations to
Highfield Baptist Church or the memorial of the donor’s
