Shirley Grey Tomblin Brunet Wednesday December 8th 2021

It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley on Wednesday December 8, 2021 at the Ottawa Hospital at the age of 92. She was born in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Moose Creek, Ontario with her family at a very young age. She was the loving wife for 38 years of her dear late husband Ray. Predeceased by her parents Emery and Eron “Billie” Brunet and brothers Buddy and Pierre. She leaves behind her dear sister Diane (Michel Séguin) her loving nephews, André (Mélanie) and Alain (Julie) and many cherished cousins.
Shirley was very active as the administration secretary, of the Ottawa Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa for many years. She received much recognition from all the charitable services she was so proud to have been a part of. Her greatest honour was when she was inducted as the first female member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa and a LIFE Member of Kiwanis International in 1990.
A Private Family Service will be held on Friday, December 17th at 1 pm. For those who wish to participate virtually,

  1. My most sincere condolences to Shirley’s family. We were Choir mates for many years at Divine Infant Church, Orleans and with a great deal of help from Shirley, the Choir made a trip to Rome to sing at St. Peter’s Basilica. May the good Lord bless and keep her. May He make His face to shine upon her and grant her eternal rest.
