Shirley Doris Read
1934-2021
Read – The death
occurred at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, May
18, 2021, of Shirley Doris Read, of Summerside, aged 87 years. Born in
Elliotts, PE, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Sadie
(Abbott) Stevenson. Survived by her husband Balfour Read; children
Paul (Gayle), Vera (Jerry) Reno and Steven (Laura); 8 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren; her sister Audrey MacKay; and by a
sister-in-law Marjorie Read. Predeceased by her sisters Marion
Wigmore, Ada Dollar, Celia MacDowell and Louella Raynard; and by
brothers Clarence and Randolph Stevenson. Resting at Moase Funeral
Home, Summerside, where a private family visitation will be held. A
private family graveside service will be held at Peoples Cemetery,
Summerside. Memorial donations to the Central Street Christian Church,
Prince County Hospital Foundation or charity of choice would be
appreciated.
