Sherry Jean Beswetherick 2021

Sherry left us the evening of October 22, at the age of 61 years, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her parents Jack and Dorothy Beswetherick of Olds, Alberta; sons Shawn Beswetherick of Victoria, BC and Nathan Beswetherick-Wych of Calgary; daughter-in-law Sarah Beswetherick of Ladysmith, BC; brother Ted (Jodi) Beswetherick of Calgary; grandchildren Hadrian, Theran, Darius; nephews Chris, Paul, Kurt; many other uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends. Sherry was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and like most military families made stops in Cold Lake, Hugelsheim Germany, back to Winnipeg, Edmonton, and finally settling in Calgary. After working as a teacher with the CBE, Sherry spent the past 4 years in retirement. She was a brave independent woman, spending her time between the Calgary area during the summer and Vancouver Island during the winter months. Sherry is a budding artist and crafter with many projects always on the go, an avid photographer, and bird nerd. The birds and other wildlife of Western Canada can rest easy as the lady hiding behind that tree with the camera will no longer be spying from the tree but keeping watch from overhead.
The family would like to express thanks and gratitude to the medical team at the Foothill Hospital unit #36, and the caring team at the Southwood Hospice. Every encounter Sherry had she was always treated with respect, courtesy, and dignity.
At Sherry’s request, no formal funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca), the Ellis Bird Farm (www.ellisbirdfarm.ca), or a charity of your choosing.
