Shane G.’s Obituary
Shane Bassa (Schmidt) took his wings suddenly on May 11, 2021 just short of his 34th birthday. He was born on May 12, 1987 in High Level, (AB). He joined the family of George and Sonja Schmidt at the age of 2 days, received from his mother, Irene Bassa, wanting a better life for him.
Shane was a good student and graduated from High Level Public School. Shane was a very happy child and always connected to his biological parents but considered George and Sonja his parents. Shane, despite his challenges was always so polite. He was a caring person, especially towards his family. He loved his mom, Sonja to the end, always saying “love you” every night before bed. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Shane was predeceased by his biological mother, Irene Bassa and his dad, George Schmidt. He is survived by his biological sisters, Shanen and Shanika Bassa as well as by his loving mon, Sonja Schmidt and numerous brothers and sisters.
