We are profoundly saddened to announce that our beloved wife, mother, nana, sister and friend passed away, albeit peacefully, at her home in the evening of October 16, 2021. Much loved wife of George Roberton, loving mother to Kristine (Martin) Spencer and Kathryn (Richard) LeBlanc and proud Nana to Jack and Charlotte. Dear sister to Christine and daughter of late Alec and Irene Hardie. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Sandra was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and emigrated to Canada with her family as a child. She grew up in St.Catharines where she attended St. Catharines Collegiate. After high school she worked at Silverwood Dairies where she met George. They were married in May, 1970.
Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother or ‘Nana’ as she was known. Nana travelled the world with her husband and grandchildren visiting over 30 countries together and countless trips to Disney World.
She loved music, attending concerts, reading and making cookies for her grandchildren. She had a very quick sense of humour and was the smartest person we knew.
We can’t believe she was taken from us so swiftly and so soon but we are comforted by all of the memories that she provided. She will forever be in all of our hearts.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel” on Saturday October 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m.-12:45p.m.
Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions a private family service will be held at 1:00 p.m.
We thank you for your understanding and encourage you to provide your condolences to the family through her memorial page.
The family has provided the opportunity to view a LiveStream of the funeral service from the comfort of your own home. This link will become available at time of service.
