Sandee Lee Wolfe passed away peacefully on November 23rd, 2021 at the age of 78.
Sandee was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Brian Wolfe. Survived by her two sons from her first marriage; son Shawn Demoss, daughter in law Esther Demoss, grandchildren Stephen, Nicole and Ethan, son Chad Demoss, daughter in law Julie Dillon, mother and father in law Erna and Al Wolfe, brother in law Don Wolfe (Val), sister in laws Cheryl Wolfe Vriens (Rod) and Sandra Wolfe as well as many nieces and nephews.
Sandee was born in Indiana, United States, and later lived in Illinois, California and Colorado.
She moved to Canada in 1983 to be with her new husband, Brian. They temporarily resided in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan while Brian completed his residency. Sandee and Brian settled in the Cowichan Valley and happily lived there for over 30 years.
Sandee was a kind, gentle and thoughtful person. She fully embraced all that she did, whether it was her passion for learning (a voracious reader), her artistic pursuits, athletic challenges, gardening, travelling the world, affection for cats or her love of lattes. She had both an adventurous spirit and liked to spend time in quiet reflection. She was incredibly close with her sons, was enthralled with her grandchildren and felt blessed to be able to watch them grow.
Prior to moving to Canada, Sandee worked as a flight attendant, medical assistant, and paralegal. She was generous with her time and resources throughout her life, volunteering for many organizations including Planned Parenthood, Cowichan Valley Life, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and St. Peter’s Anglican Church.
Sandee demonstrated considerable grace and courage while adjusting to the challenges her medical condition presented, always having a smile for those who were caring for her.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to the many medical professionals who cared for Sandee. The nurses, volunteers and staff associated with Cowichan Hospice House provided a community of love and support for Sandee, offering comfort not only to Sandee, but also her family and friends.
As per Sandee’s wishes, a private service will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of BC.
