Samuel Alfred Pinch
1936-2021
Samuel Alfred Pinch – age 85, of
Greenwich, formerly of New Minas, passed away on Tuesday, December 21,
2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wallbrook, he
was a son of the late Alfred M. and Janet E. (Kennedy)
Pinch.
Sam was a truck driver for roughly 40 years,
driving for Stirlings, Jodrey & Pulsifer, Midland and retiring
from Merks. He was a past member of the New Minas Fire Department. He
enjoyed playing softball as well as hockey and tug-o-war in his
younger days.
Sam is survived by his sons, Melvin (Doris),
New Minas; David, St. Catharines, ON; daughter, Marilyn (George)
Misner, Kentville; sisters, Joyce (Vernon) Pinch, Wallbrook; Shirley
(Wayne) Duggan, Murphy Lake; grandsons, Jeff, Matthew, Greg, Mitchell
and Ty; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Florence
(Sanford) in April 2021; brother, Paul and sister, Janice
White.
Cremation has taken place. Due to the COVID-19
pandemic, the funeral service for both Sam and Florence will be held
at a later date to be announced. Donations in memory may be made to
the Kings County SPCA or the MS Society of Nova Scotia. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
