Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 78.
Beloved wife of John for 56 years. Loving mother of Michael (Lisa), Lisa (Geoff) Whent and Sarah (Chris) Haze. Loving grandmother of Jocelyn and Josh Whent and Ella and Nolan Haze. Dear sister of Nancy Skinner, Dennis (Sue) Knoll, Esther (Henning) Baumgarten, John (Debbie) Knoll and Michael (Pauline) Knoll.
Sally loved her vocation as a teacher with the Waterloo Catholic District School Board for over 30 years. Her passion was sharing her love of reading with her students, watching them learn and grow. Those who knew Sally know she always had a flare for style and life, which she also demonstrated through her Mary Kay business and her sheer strength and constant positive outlook.
Sally’s family will receive relatives and friends from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. The Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church, 173 Lourdes St. W. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kingsbridge at a later date. Please use the funeral home website to RSVP your attendance for both the visitation and Funeral Mass. Masks are mandatory.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation – Cancer Centre or St. Joseph’s Kingsbridge Community, Goderich would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
