Obituary
How can one life touch so many? It is with broken hearts that the family of Rylan Wagner announces his unexpected passing on July 15, 2021.
Rylan was only 18 years old, but in his short life he made a difference in so many lives. Ry was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He carried with him a light that he shared with everyone around him. He was a mentor, an athlete and a coach, a protector, and an example of true kindness.
Rylan is survived by his parents: Kevin (Brandy) Wagner & Angela Kuzyk (Craig Ireland); sisters: Bethannie, Avis and DezRaye; step siblings: Angelina, Jessica, Roland and Tatum (Desmond). He is also survived by his grandparents: Annie Wagner, Ernie and Diana Kuzyk; aunts and uncles: Michael (Brandie) Wagner, Travis (Micki) Wagner, Daniel (Kristi) Kuzyk, Eva (Kyle) Craige, Elizabeth (Jarrod) Oko, Katherine (Bryan) MacNeil; many younger cousins and only remaining great grandmother Elizabeth (Betty) Sale.
Rylan is predeceased by his grandpa Ronald Wagner.
He will be fondly remembered by all his classmates, teammates, coaches and of course all of the kids he taught to swim or flip.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday July 23rd at 2:00pm in the Athabasca Regional Multiplex.
The family requests no flowers but is instead collecting donations on behalf of three local organizations that were a big part of Rylan’s life:
● Athabasca Flips Gymnastics Club
● Athabasca Regional Multiplex (pool).
● Athabasca Mentorship Program
Donations can be made at the celebration, at a Servus Credit Union in Rylan Wagner’s name or via etransfers at angdawnwag@gmail.com.
