Bolander, Ruth Victoria
Peacefully at the Hawkesbury General Hospital, on Monday February 22,2021 Ruth Bolander (nee Hunter) of Vankleek Hill passed away at the age of 97.She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her son Barry and her grandson Michael. Survived by her daughter-in-law Ardith. Also predeceased by two sisters, Audrey Stewart, and Betty Harvey and brother Keith and a niece Betty. She will be missed by her sister Marjorie Hunter Gear (Stuart), nieces; Sharon Harvey and Norma Stewart and nephew Douglas Harvey (Judy) as well as several grand nieces and nephews.
Ruth had a long and interesting life living in various cities across Canada due to Jack’s work with the Hudson Bay Company. Once their son Barry left home, she began her own career as a manager at CMHC. After retirement, Ruth and Jack moved back to her hometown of Vankleek Hill where they were avid golfers and bridge players.
Ruth’s home for the last seven years was at the Heritage Lodge in Vankleek Hill. Thank you to the staff there for their kindness to her.
In memory of Ruth, a donation to the Hawkesbury and District Hospital Foundation or the Make-A-Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Due to COVID restrictions, a Graveside Service will take place in the spring at Cassburn Cemetery, L’Orignal. Ontario
