Obituary of Ruth Barnett Britnell
(January 17, 1921 – June 29, 2021)
Mrs. Ruth B. Britnell (nee Elliott), of Belleville and formerly of Prescott, passed away peacefully at Moira Place Long Term Care Home in Tweed, Ontario., on June, 29th, 2021, in her 101st year. Ruth was the beloved wife of 63 years of the late Andrew Britnell. Loving Mother of Don and his wife Sharilyn of Belleville and cherished grandmother of Erin of Orangeville and Geoff (Brooke) of Oakville. Ruth is fondly remembered by dearest friends Jim and Gloria Purcell of Spencerville and their family, and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth is predeceased by her parents, James and Annie Elliott (Whitfield). The family wish to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Quinn and the staff at Moira Place for their outstanding and thoughtful care while Ruth was a resident there. They would also like to thank Dr. Jeff Allin, and the staff of Quinte Gardens Retirement Home for their support, care and kindness toward Ruth during the 10 years she was a resident there. A Private Funeral Service was held at Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street, Belleville (613-968-2273/877-256-3688), on Friday, July 2nd, 2021. If desired, donations to QHC-Belleville General Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
