Peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital in Simcoe, Ontario, on December 8th 2021 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late James Prior. Loving mother of the late Kenneth Prior, Doug Prior (Colette) of Redbridge, Beth Scott (Late Joe) of Sundridge, Keith Prior (Lillian) of Red Deer, and Betty Danchuk (Tim) of Waterford. Cherished grandmother to Michael, Justin, Troy, Terri, Bryan, Sean, James, Kim, and Jeffery. Great-Grandmother to Ryan, Hailey, Joshua,, Miranda, Braeden, Carson, Brook, Carter, Lauklan, Ronin, Justin, Trinity, and Everett
Great-Great-Grandmother to Jamie Rose. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her parents William and Annie Croutch. Siblings Herb, Raymond, Freeman, William, Ila, Marjory and Evelyn.
Ruth was best known for her homemade pies and making sure you didn’t go away hungry. In her younger years she loved to curl, she also was a big fan of hockey and baseball. Over the years Ruth was a foster parent to many children through the Children’s Aid Society. Ruth loved to have people around especially her grandchildren.
The late Ruth Prior will rest at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home (157 Main Street South, Newmarket, Ontario). Visitation will take place on Sunday December 12th from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m., the service will follow at 2 p.m. Interment at Newmarket Cemetery will take place on Monday December 13th at 11 a.m.
