WETTLAUFER, Ruth Marie (nee Hinz), 104, of Tavistock passed away peacefully at PeopleCare Tavistock on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
She was born at New Hamburg on July 2, 1916 a daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Spill) Hinz. She was a member of Grace United Church in Tavistock. Ruth married Percy John Wettlaufer at New Hamburg on March 6, 1937. He predeceased her on July 28, 1979. She was predeceased by her son Robert “Bob” Wettlaufer on August 2, 2017.
Ruth is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Claudette Wettlaufer, Bill and Gloria Wettlaufer; by her daughter, Lynda Lou Wettlaufer; five grandchildren, Fred Wettlaufer, Marianne and Dale Ruby, Charlie Wettlaufer and Chris Patrick, Scott and Erika Wettlaufer and Angela Wettlaufer; six great grandchildren, Jayden Ruby, Simon Ruby, Riley Wettlaufer, Travis Wettlaufer, Emily Wettlaufer and Joshua Wettlaufer.
She was predeceased by her son Robert “Bob” Wettlaufer on August 2, 2017; her granddaughter, Yvonne Claudia Wettlaufer in infancy; her sisters, brothers and their spouses, Anna and Harold Hollingsworth, Dorothy Wettlaufer, Catherine and Ted Byers, Elsie and Ray Madter, Edward Hinz and Carl Hinz.
A family visitation and celebration of Ruth’s life was held in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Wednesday, May 5. 2021. The Rev. Gail Fricker officiated. Interment followed in Grace United Cemetery, Tavistock.
