Younker – 49, Calgary,
Alberta. With broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of Russ
“Rusty” Younker, which occurred at Foothills
Hospital in Calgary, Alberta, on Thursday, April 15,
2021.
Russ was born in Springhill and spent most of his youth
growing up in Truro, travelling throughout Canada and finally landed
in Calgary.
Russ is survived by his mother, Brenda (Tom) Nutter, Truro;
father, Dave (Lillian) Younker. Prince Edward Island; beloved sister,
Tara Younker (Chris Smith), Calgary, Alberta; several aunts, uncles,
nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend, Derek
Richard.
His passion was to be outdoors to fish, camp, landscape and
garden; he also loved all animals, mechanics and welding. He
appreciated live music and was excited to attend many musical events
and had an extensive knowledge of music.
Due to Covid-19, a private gathering will take place at a
later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Russ’ memory to
a charity of choice are welcomed. Private messages of condolence may
