Obituary of Roy Allan MacNeill
Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 the death occurred of Roy Allan MacNeill of Charlottetown, age 79 years.
Roy was the second eldest of 8 children born to his parents Hedley and Ada MacNeill (Batchilder). Beloved husband of Thelma MacNeill (MacQuarrie). Lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters Carol Longaphie (Allan), Joyce Alexander Cormier (Real), James MacNeill (Sharon), Phyllis MacDonald (Kevin) and Donald MacDonald. Roy will be missed by his large family of cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and great grandnieces. Brother-in law of Alcide Perry and Ria MacDonald. Besides Roy’s parents he is predeceased by his sisters Joan MacNeill, Faye Perry and brother-in-law Bill Matheson.
Roy was a veteran with the Royal Canadian Army with the Black Watch Regiment serving for 13 years in Gagetown, Germany and peacekeeping in Cyprus. Roy was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Roy loved camping and being outdoors.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held. No public visiting hours will be held. Interment will take place later at Highfield Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the PEI Humane Society.
