Roy Joseph LeClair
1964-2021
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing at the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital, on Saturday May 22, 2021, surrounded by his
loving family, of Roy Joseph LeClair, of Montrose, PEI. Born at
Alberton, on August 4, 1964, he was the son of Mary Irene (Perry)
LeClair and the late Alphonse Joseph LeClair of St.
Peter and St. Paul.
He is survived by his partner, Marilyn Ellsworth of Montrose.
Lovingly missed by his children, Ashley Nelson (Robert) of
Charlottetown, Logan LeClair (Amanda) of St. Lawrence, Lacey LeClair
(Jimmy Lee Perry) of Tignish, his grandchildren, Paige and Charlie
Perry, and many nieces and nephews, his grandmother, Eva
Perry (Tignish Seniors Home), and six brothers, Leo (John) of
Montreal, QC, Eric (Faye) of Summerside, Donald of Toronto, ON, Floyd
(Gilles) of St-Marie-de-Kent, NB, Wayne (Lynn) of Crapaud, and Roger
(Kelli) of Victoria, BC.
A hardworking jack-of-all-trades, Roy worked on Billy
Oliver’s farm for 42 years, starting at 15 years old, but still always
made time to help anyone in need, jumping in his GMC and heading out
after receiving a phone call for his assistance. He loved playing
Sequence and card games, and dancing late into the night at the
DeBlois French School.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel Alberton, for
visiting hours Tuesday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass on Wednesday
afternoon from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral
mass at 3:00 p.m., Rev. John Molina, Celebrant. Interment in the
Church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be gratefully accepted.
