It is with heavy hearts that the Simpson family announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister at Algonquin Nursing Home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, she was in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Ernest Simpson. Cherished mother of Robert (Nicole Flynn) Simpson and predeceased by her son Dennis Simpson. Proud grandmother of Michael Simpson, Sheri Larochelle (Robert), Jodi MacDonald (Randy) and her 7 great-grandchildren Conor, Alyssa, Noemi, Dominic, Taylor, Lindsay & Aaron. She is predeceased by her siblings Danny, Annie, Mary, Stella, Sophie, Billy and Johnny. Lovingly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rose was very involved in St. Anne’s Church, a Life long member of Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion, Golden Age, she raised funds for the Golden Age Hall, canvassing door to door and volunteered at the Algonquin Nursing Home for many years. She worked at Ritters Men’s Wear for 30 years. Visitations at Martyn & Sloan “Mattawa Chapel” on Thursday, October 7th, 2021 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Ste-Anne Catholic Church on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at 11 a.m. In keeping with Covid protocol, those attending must wear masks and practice social distancing. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Algonquin Nursing Home or St. Anne’s Church would be greatly appreciated.
