Rosemary Sharon Westgate
Rosemary Westgate, known by so many as ‘Gramma’ departed her loving family on Friday, September 17th, 2021, in her 64th year. In her last hours she was comforted by her son Kevin, daughter in law, Jennifer and her grandson, Carter while listening to her favourite musician Elvis Presley. Rosemary was a loving mom to Alex, Kevin, Jennifer and the most wonderful gramma to Victoria, Carter and Wyatt. She was an honorary Gramma to Jonas, Victoria, Mack and so many more!
In 2014 Rosemary came to live with her son Kevin (Jennifer), and grandsons Carter and Wyatt. From here the bond that was created was one that is unbreakable and our lives will never be the same with her gone. From this time, Rosemary created a bond with so many family and friends where she meant more to everyone than just Kevin and Jennifer’s mom. Visitors would always be greeted with a smile while she would drink her tea, eat her tarts and crush her candies (Candy Crush)! In the 7 years living together, we were able to share so many precious memories together from vacations, trips to the trailer and family hangouts at home. Gramma quickly became a well-known and respected person within the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Rosemary loved her “Don’t Mess with Gramma” sweater where everyone knew how true that was but also how kindhearted she was. We have truly been blessed to have Rosemary be such a huge part of our life! Our home and hearts will always be filled with happy memories.
Rosemary will be missed and remembered by her sisters Linda Murphy, Debbie Robinson, her aunt Sharon along with brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and so many wonderful friends. Rosemary is predeceased by her son Alex, father Carl, mother Bessie and close cousins and caregivers John and Mary Horrocks.
I am at peace, my soul’s at rest
There is no need for tears
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
