On Dec 12/2021 Rosemary Flaherty passed away at her son’s home surrounded by love.
She was the eldest daughter of Richard and Loretta (Hare) Williams. Born April 10,1939 she grew up in Bushville Miramichi, and upriver surrounded by her much loved family. She worked as a hairdresser and over the years held many different employments.
She is survived by 2 sons: Gary (Jill) Napan, Greg (Heather) Lower Newcastle, and a daughter Gail (Mark) of St Stephen, NB; Three grandchildren: Mitchell, Kaitlynn and Rylin, whom she dearly loved; One sister Kelly McInnis (North Bay, Ontario) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Gerald Flaherty, and her eldest daughter Shelly Williams Brown. She will be greatly missed by her special friend Leonard Maloney. Rosemary was always the life of the party, she loved talking to people, animals, and going to Ritchie Wharf in the summer, listening to country music and was a frequent Tim Hortons customer. She never sat still long, Zooming from here to there in her car with the appropriate “Rambling Rose” license plate.
Thank-you to the staff of 2 West, 4 East palliative care, and Miramichi Extra-Mural Palliative care, who cared for Rose during her brief illness. A very special Thank-you to Dr. Gerard Losier who, cared for her and made her wish to come home possible. At her request there will be no wake or funeral. A private family service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations to Miramichi Extramural Palliative Care, or Miramichi SPCA would be appreciated.
