The death of Rose Phyllis Oakes of Holmesville occurred on Sunday,
December 26, 2021 at the River View Manor, Bath. Rose was born March
25, 1927 in Holmesville, NB and was the daughter of the late Howard
and Melissa (Broad) DeMerchant. She was also predeceased by 2 sons,
Ellery Oakes and Doug Oakes (Mary); 4 siblings, Ronald, Carol, Wilma
and Patsy.
Rose is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Graydon; 5
children, Sam Oakes (Jean), Sandra Oakes, Bill Oakes (Laurie), Joanne
Guest (Fred) and Jeff Oakes (Robyn); 15 grandchildren; 15 great
grandchildren; 6 siblings, Joyce Wallace, Martha Kinney, Louis
DeMerchant, Myrtle Boyd (Joe), Murray DeMerchant (Donna) and Herb
DeMerchant as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family
.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 from
11- pm. Respecting Covid – 19 regulations facial masks, proof of
vaccination and Government issued ID are required for entry. A
private family service will be held in The L.R. Giberson Funeral
Chapel. The interment will be Mineral Cemetery at a later date. For
those who wish donations made to the Mineral Cemetery would be
